Wabash National is actively recruiting for multiple 1st shift (5AM – 3PM) Material Handler 1’s in Harrison Arkansas with an interest wood manufacturing. This position performs tasks such as moving boards/sticks/components from location to location by hand based on the specifications of the material. Responsibilities are as follows:
· Maintains a consistent flow of materials as necessary.
· Assures that materials are within quality criteria and properly orientated.
· Process non-conforming materials per process requirements.
· Fixes jams and or piles of materials on conveyors and in machinery.
· May be required to do other duties as requested by coordinator or supervisor.
· Performs some housekeeping in work area as needed.
It does not include all aspects of the position such as potential duties assigned by the supervisors with the requirement for flexibility in helping others for the locations overall benefit. Wabash national requires background and drug screening for all applicants. High School Diploma or equivalent. Able to read numbers and letters in sequential order. Must have knowledge of and work in a safe manner. Must be able to see up to 130 feet. Must be able to adequately communicate. Must be able to wear proper personal protective equipment. Must be able to stand for 10 hours at 2-3-hour intervals. Must be able to navigate up and down stair steps while bending and/or in awkward body positions. Must have full range of body mechanics and articulation in arms, hands, and shoulders. Must be able to push/pull button and switches for 10 hours. Must be able to read and use a measuring tape. Must be able to reach up to 2 ½ feet. Must be able to lift 15 lbs. for 10 hours at 2-3-hour intervals, 30 lbs. 12 times a shift, and 44 lbs. once a shift. Must be able to grasp up tools and material for 10 hours. Must be able to pull up to 30 lbs. minimum once a shift and 20 lbs. with arms for 10 hours at 2-3 hour intervals. Must be able to visually detect defects and mark materials as necessary.
